Hex-Reversal with Mirror & Candles: Curse Breaking Spell

Did you know that you can use a mirror to reverse a spell cast against you? Here’s a simple ritual to stay protected against hexes, curses, and other spiritual and psychic attacks.

Finding out where the attack came from is usually not possible. But we can at least make sure that it doesn’t affect us in negative ways by creating a spiritual barrier to protect us. Along with this mirror reversal spell, we have included two other easy spells to reverse the curse and send it back to its originator.

Is reversing a curse spell harmful? Not necessarily. A reversal spell is not contrary to the Wiccan Rede or the Golden Rule. Just like in a Return to Sender Spell, we are not intending to cause harm to anyone, simply sending an energy back to its source, in tune with the Threefold Law: “What ye sends forth comes back to thee.”

Reversing Spells: 3 Methods

First of all, the magic mirror protection. The mirror itself is a magical and mysterious tool which has often been used as symbols of wisdom and self-knowledge. It’s powerful magnetism has been used in magic since ancient times, but those who could not control the fascination of its mystery were trapped on the other side of the reflection, like Narcissus, unable to return to the real world.

In Goethe’s Faust, the main character is lost in a magic mirror after visiting the witch’s kitchen. Brass mirrors were to hang above idols in China. This way, if evil spirits were to enter their place of worship, they would see their reflection and run away.

1. Mirror Reversal Spell

Mirrors separate realities and reflect energies, this is what makes them so powerful when it comes to magic and counter-spells. Here’s how to cast a mirror reversal spell to neutralize a hex. 2. Reversal Candle Spell

Here is a simple reversal spell chant to send back a spell cast on you. You will use the power of two black candles with this traditional chant to Cernunnos, the Celtic Forest God. Learn more about working with candles here: Candle Magic 101 Lesson.

1. Start at dusk, as the sun is starting to set and darkness descends.
2. Light two black candles on your altar
3. Take 3 deep breaths and focus on the heavy energies around you.
4. Say:
   “In the name of the Gods and all ye Spirits,
   In the name of Cernunnos, and the light,
   and the dark, and the Gods of the Netherworld.
   Remove thy curse and sting from my heart and mine.
   And whosoever shall be casting a curse against me,
   let he/she suffer their own curse.
   Let these candles, be their candles, this burning be their burning, this curse be their curse.
   Let the pain they have cause me and mine, fall upon themselves.”
5. Continue to burn the candles for five nights. Don’t leave candles burning unattended. On the last night burn them completely.

3. Reversal Candle Spell with Fire

To harness the cleansing and destroying power of the Element Fire, you can do a simple banishing exercise:

1. Write your target (the name of the thing that’s bothering you) on a piece of paper. You may simply write “hex” or use a drawing or picture that represents what you want to banish, such as a sigil or a personal object. Some witches like to use toilet paper for this banishing spell.
   If you’re trying to break a habit, you can use this as a “remove bad habits spell” too. Simply write down the habit you’re trying to get rid of.
2. Create a fire in a safe place and throw it in. Make sure there is adult supervision when working with fire.

Bay Leaf Spell: You can simply write down “curse” or “hex” on a bay leaf and burn the leaf. Bay leaf, or laurel, is a noble and protective tree, with a strong energy that attracts luck, success, and material and spiritual fulfillment. This herb helps us connect with our intellectual and spiritual sides.

How to use a reversal candle? 🕯️

If you are working on a reversal spell, you can buy a reversing candle which has been previously blessed and consecrated for the purpose. However, you don’t need to buy a special candle. You can instead just use a black candle and bless it yourself. The best time to burn a reversing candle for a spell, hex or curse is the Waning Moon 🌘. This is the most ideal lunar time for banishing and protection work.

You can dress the reversal candle by rubbing some oil with your fingertips over the candle without touching the wick. The oils of the herbs listed below will work. Choose one according to your specific situation.

Black pepper – to banish negativity from your personal spaces.
Cinnamon – fending off negative energies, good fortune.
Peppermint – for purity, assisting with communication, prosperity, and fighting back evil.
Garlic – to invoke Hecate’s help in the delivery of justice.
Rosemary – works as a general protective herb which can be used to substitute other ingredients.
Salt – although not an herb, this mineral represents Earth and has been used for centuries to ward off negative energy.
