Video Lesson: Uses of Lemon
Lemons have many beneficial properties, not just in our diet but for health and beauty in general. Also from a spiritual perspective, with their mere presence, lemons can help us purify environments of any negativity with their Solar energy. ☀️
The simplest way to do an energetic cleanse is to place a couple of lemons in the room. When they turn black, throw them away or replace them. You can also cut them in half and let them rest on a dish wherever you want to do the cleaning.

Lemon is so much more than a garnish you squeeze into your drink; it can be used to uplift your mood and it provides lots of needed vitamins and antioxidants. While the origins of lemon are unknown, many believe that it originated from northwestern India. Lemons have been cultivated for over 2,500 years, but only recently has their sour taste been used to flavor dishes and candies.
Believe it or not, lemons were grown as an ornamental plant rather than for food. Christopher Columbus brought lemon seeds with him on his journey to Hispaniola and the Spanish conquest spread lemon throughout the New World. Starting in the 1700s, lemons were grown in California and then took off as a major crop in Florida starting in the 1800s when people began using them for flavoring. British sailors used them to stave off scurvy, a vitamin C deficiency, during their long voyages across the sea. Scurvy killed off thousands of sailors until lemons came to the rescue!
Happiness and Joy
The scent, shape, and color of lemons emits positive energy. Perpetually linked to a favorite summertime drink, these magickal little fruits are great for rituals in the summer focused on happiness and cleansing. Cutting a lemon in half produces a beautiful rendition of the sun. These little, pungent bursts of sun symbolize solar energy. Their divine energy is a perfect addition to any sun magic spell or ritual.
Lemons are also a great addition to any spell to banish depression as their bright color represents joy, happiness, and fulfillment. While initially thought of as a sun fruit, the lemon is also closely linked with the moon and the lunar essence. Those who align the lemon with the moon use it to increase love and fertility through using the flowers and rind.
Lemons can be used when working with lunar deities or moon energy to help purify or cleanse an area. Lemon oil is added to a bath to cleanse the self or added to cleaning supplies to purify the home. Let the scent of lemon clear and cleanse your thoughts and mind as you meditate on the happiness and gratefulness in your life.
Reducing Risk of Stroke
Citrus fruits contain flavonoids. These flavonoids in lemons have been shown to help women lower their risk of ischemic (when a blod clot blocks the flow of blood to the brain) stroke by 19%. Consuming flavonoids can also help to protect against certain cancers and cardiovascular disease.
Iron is a main component of hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is found in red blood cells and provides the body with oxygen. Many people are at risk for iron deficiency including vegans, vegetarians, and women during their reproductive life stage. Vitamin C foods boost iron absorption and since lemons are super high in Vitamin C, it is natural that one should consume lemon in order to help increase their iron absorption.
Avoid lemons if you have mouth ulcers. The high content of citric acid can cause the enamel on the teeth to erode. If suffering from gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) lemon can worsen symptoms such as heartburn and regurgitation. Applying lemon to the skin increases UV sensitivity, so sun exposure should be moderated.
