The name “tourmaline” comes from the Sinhalese word “thoramalli“, meaning “stone of various colors.” Tourmaline can be found in pink, violet, blue, red, green, yellow… But black tourmaline is considered a very powerful protection stone, as it offers the best results in healing and protecting emotionally, mentally, physically, and spiritually.

Origin: Large, well-formed crystals of tourmaline can form in cavities and fractures during hydrothermal activity. It is the most multicolored mineral type known, occurring in virtually every color of the spectrum.
The most common species of Tourmaline is Schorl, or black tourmaline, which accounts for 95% of all Tourmaline in nature. The term Schorl was in use before the 1400s, named for a town in Saxony, Germany, where Black Tourmaline was found in nearby tin mines.
