Merry meet!

Thank you once again to everyone who joined in for last weekā€™s Weekly Witchy Challenge - Technologic Magick :technologist:

Got something youā€™d like to bottle up? How about a jar-sized boost of power? This week, I hope youā€™re feeling creative, because itā€™s time to roll up our sleeves and get crafty in the Craft! :grinning:

The theme for this weekā€™s challenge isā€¦

Spell Jars Witch Bottles Spells8 Challenge

:jar: :sparkles: Spell Jars & Witch Bottles :funeral_urn::magic_wand:

Were you ever told to ā€œnot bottle things upā€? This challenge turns that on its head-
Weā€™re finding freedom, peace, empowerment and more through witch bottles!

Jar Spells and Witch Bottles (terms that can be used interchangeably) come in many wonderful shapes and forms but all share the purpose of combining ingredients as part of a spell. The end result can be stored away, left on your altar, carried with you, or even given as a gift. It is a very versatile way of casting a spell!

Spell bags and jars are containers for a spell. The ingredients that correspond to the intention of the spell are added and then sealed to be charged or consecrated. This type of spell is usually crafted to contain the spell during a long-term goal or manifestation.

Traditional Witch bottles were used to bring about a continuous energy, such as protection, good luck or abundance. They can be made using old glass jars, medicine bottles, or any glass bottle with a lid or cork.

From Spells8 : Spell Bags & Jars

Whether you have crafted a million spell bottles or have yet to make your first- this challenge encourages you to open up and step out of your comfort zone as you explore the theme this week. There are no right or wrong answers here- feel free to let your creativity out of the jar!:sparkles:

Iā€™ve got a few jars calling my name! :crossed_fingers: Hopefully I can get to this one this week lol

OH! Youā€™re not alone @MeganB! I have one that I actually had to dismantle & need to redo. I would also like to do one more for myself soonā€¦ just have to choose the right intentions & such! This is perfect timing @BryWisteria! I am looking forward to this one! :revolving_hearts:

I made an anti-anxiety jar for the holidays. I was going to empty its contents around the 7th, but I got sick and forgot to. This challenge was a great reminder.

Now to pick a jar spell from this siteā€¦

Yaaaaaaaay a new challenge!!!

Once again synchronicity strikes. With my technology challenge last week, one of the things I worked on was creating a recipe for a witch bottle for Artemis. I was planning on waiting until after the full moon to make it as I wanted to create my own anointing oil in Her honor for the bottle but I can improvise and see what I come up with! Iā€™m still waiting on mugwort to arrive, so I suppose Iā€™ll figure something out.

Canā€™t wait for this one, as Iā€™ve been collecting a few lovely bottles and recycling some to use. :herb: :full_moon: :deer:

As per usual, I am way over thinking this one

[Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Spell Jars & Witch Bottles]

Challenge entry - Garnet

Since I make a lot of skin care products and liniments or muscle creams, the making of ā€œWitch Jarsā€ isnā€™t new to me.
The latest jar I used is my version of the DIY Tiger Balm
Camphor, Menthol, peppermint, beeswax pellets, lavender, and a good mild skin oil, like sweet almond oil, grapeseed oil, and or aloe/jojoba.
There are many recipes out there, I roughly used one by Jeni Raincloud, with many adjustments in amounts and oils. I used the lovely gold tins to hold the melt-on your handā€™s skin rub. My muscles always feel better afterward.
If youā€™ve ever had arthritic pain, the results feel like magic, ergo my Witches Jar

I just found the darling bottles below, theyā€™re shaped like mushrooms!

Wouldnā€™t they be cool for face serum?

If you want the recipe, let me know.
Blessed be
Garnet

Sorry, it was so short but I tire so easily lately.
Good news, tomorrow I get my new Wheelchair!

Owwwww, I have just the jars for this!! I have had these for a few months now waiting for them to call me to do something with them. This is a perfect challenge for them. Now to decide what I want to do.

I love that you included this as an option, thank you

Those are adorable! :mushroom: :mushroom: :mushroom:

Wow those are beautiful!

You know, I suddenly remember a popular thing in the 90s, it was these beautiful corked jars and people would fill them with mineral oil and add beautiful dried flowers. I made one once that was heart shaped. It felt so magical, I had it for years.

This is exciting! Something about witch jars intrigues me, and Iā€™ve been wanting to make another one. This should be fun. Now to find timeā€¦ Lol

I absolutely love this challenge butā€¦I donā€™t have any spell jars or witch bottles! :worried: If I order them now, they would probably reach by 1st Feb, I donā€™t know what to do, I really wanted to participate in this one but I guess itā€™s my bad luck this time! :sob: I wonder whether normal and empty kitchen jars could be used?

@Solasta_Amore Of course, I read you can even use old prescription bottles, kitchen jars, whatever you have. Just put the intent behind what itā€™s going to be used for. Iā€™m really learning that you donā€™t always need everything in a recipe or spell or whatever it may be. Use what you have, and use ingredients that you DO have that correspond with your intention. And you could always remake your spell jar when you get the jars you want. Hope this helps you hun. :green_heart::magic_wand::sparkles:

@MeganB Hooray! If theyā€™re calling, turn them into something magickal! :grinning: :raised_hands: :sparkles:

@Susurrus Iā€™m thrilled that you like the theme, Siofra- happy jar crafting!:jar:

@Kasandra So many choices! Haha I hope you can find the perfect jar spell for you- good luck!

@Marsha Iā€™m happy you think so! Good luck, Marsha! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Artemisia Ohhhh that sounds exciting! And itā€™s always fun to give a new life to something you held on to- good luck and I hope you have fun with your witch bottle! :sparkles::blush:

@Garnet I just brought out the Tiger Balm the other day- it really does do wonders for muscle aches! And AAAaaaAAAAaa look at those adorable little mushroom bottles!!! :mushroom: Iā€™m in love! (and yes, please, I would love your face serum recipe if youā€™re willing to share it ) (and P.P.S congrats on the new weelchair! :wheelchair: :tada::heart:)

@Amaris_Bane Ohhhhh look at those bottles! :star_struck: Where did you find those beauties, Amaris? I love the stopper tops, and theyā€™re so much fun with the different colors! :rainbow: I was just reading about how colored glass can add the correspondence of the color into the liquid inside- youā€™ve got lots of potential with these! :grinning:

@Melora_Fae Itā€™s my pleasure- I know not everyone is able to get the ingredients theyā€™d like, so the virtual altar is a big help in that regard! Your oil and flower jar sounds beautiful, Melora! And a heart-shaped jar is a real treasure. I wonder if youā€™d be able to find jars like that still around? :jar: Sounds like a great excuse to go thrifting! :star_struck:

@Assyla555 It sounds like this is your sign to jump in and explore witch bottles and jars, Assyla! Good luck and I hope you have fun with it

@Solasta_Amore I agree wholeheartedly with Assyla- any bottles or jars you have will work perfectly! The real magick comes from you and is directed by your intention and the ingredients- the vessel can be anything at all. Jam jars, honey jar, herb containers, bead containers, olive oil flasks, etc. Iā€™d suggest exploring around your home (especially the kitchen) and seeing what you can find- you might be surprised at the options available! If not, no worries- thereā€™s always the virtual altar! :grinning: :+1: Good luck and I hope you have fun with your crafting :sparkles::heart::blush:

Thank you @Assyla555 & @BryWisteria! :face_holding_back_tears: I feel so much relieved now coz I really didnā€™t want to skip this one! Yes, tomorrow I am going on a jar hunt in my kitchen! :joy: Much love to you two! :hugs:

Now that Iā€™m feeling a bit better, Iā€™m really excited about this challenge! Iā€™ll be doing something for it this weekend, I hope! I got new jars just before the challenge and was hoping to find something to use them for so this is perfect.

Those are so cute

And those jars are beautiful! Iā€™d love to get ones similar to these.

Iā€™m curious, why were you going to empty it?

Oh you are so very welcome hun. Iā€™m glad youā€™re feeling better.:blue_heart: I know that feeling, when you think you canā€™t participate in something youā€™re excited for. When I thought my package for Imbolc and Ostara was stolen, I thought I couldnā€™t do anything for the Sabbat. I had this idea in my head and thought it was ruined. But I learned from our coven that other ideas and options are ALWAYS available. Sometimes I feel the need to follow steps perfectly, and if I donā€™t it wonā€™t be right. Whether it be a spell, meditation, tea recipe, anything. But Iā€™ve learned from all the wonderful witches here that that isnā€™t true. Youā€™ve got this girl! Look at your Brigid Doll. Sheā€™s absolutely darling! I canā€™t wait to see what you come up with.:magic_wand::sparkles:The Magick is in YOU.

@Melora_Fae, @BryWisteria, and @Aurora_Hestia: I found these at The Dollar Tree last fall. I couldnā€™t pass them up, especially at only $1.25 (+sales tax here in Texas). Iā€™m going to be heading back a little later today and Iā€™ll see if they have anything similar.

I call that store The Dollar 25 Store now lol. Still love it tho. Forgot they have all those little trinkets. I should take a trip there soon. Thanks for the reminder lol! :blue_heart::sparkles:
