❤️‍🩹 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Wholesome Healers

Merry meet!

Thank you once again to all those who joined in for last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge - Money Magick :moneybag:

After exploring prosperity and tending to financial matters, it’s time to tend to others in a wholesome and loving area of magick :mending_heart:

The theme for this week’s challenge is…

Healing Magick Witch Challenge Healer Help

:mending_heart: :magic_wand: Wholesome Magick : Healers :people_hugging: :sparkles:

Blessed are those who go beyond themselves to give to others
Your love, care, and healing talents help to make the world a better place for all!

What/Who Is a Healer?

As a general term, the word “healer” may call different things to mind for different people. A doctor working in a hospital or an herbalist in an apothecary can both be considered a healer, just as a shaman or witch working with healing energies also qualify as a healer. Those who work with preserving nature and healing the earth are also worthy of the title.

Definitions thanks to Oxford Languages

For the sake of this challenge, a healer is anyone who attempts to heal others- that is, to lessen pain, anguish, stress, or other negative experiences of those around them.

This challenge is in the same series as A Healthy Dose of Crystals and Into the Light, but this time the tools you choose are unrestricted and the focus is primarily on the wholesome and generous art of healing others- be it family, friends, the earth, wildlife, etc :cat:

International Cat Day is almost here, so what else could I incorporate in this week’s challenge other than cats?
There’s scientific evidence that a cat’s purr is healing, reducing blood pressure, depression, and anxiety.

I’ve been doing this for a week already! My son still tested positive for Covid monday but my husband and I are still negative :crossed_fingers: and hoping to stay that way!

I felt bad the week before my son came down sick but I didn’t test because I didn’t think I had covid. I might not have had it yet, I might have just felt bad.
The anxiety of my child being sick makes me feel awful! He is getting better but still has a cough.

This is my entry, I might edit later in the week and add something. Depends on how I’m feeling :mask:

Healing my son:
I have treated him with probiotics twice daily, elderberry gummies, 2 types, one with zinc and vitamin C and the other just straight elderberries. I put eucalyptus in his vaporizer and vicks on his chest. Lots of water and gatorade too!
Soon as he tests negative and is mask-less :mask: I will make him a sinus clearing bowl, and maybe one for me too!

Healing for me this past week:

I used charoite and amazonite crystals to lessen my worries, black tourmaline to take my negative energy, and clear quartz for positive energy. Elderberry gummies ( Gaia brand, so cool!) to boost immunity for me and my husband.

Hello there wonderful people. For this challenge, I have 2 things to share. Both related to one of the things that I feel drawn to when it comes to my craft.
I have been researching more on essential oils and their properties, especially on how and what I can combine and incorporate in ritual baths. I have discovered that baths where essential oils are used are extremely beneficial (at least for me) and help with the intent that I am trying to focus on (cleansing, healing, etc).
The first experience is personal. I actually had Covid and awful symptoms including extreme body pain, so I tried to stay away from any spells as I did not want the overall emotions I got from sickness to affect my craft but I though that a bath might not hurt so I mixed some Eucalyptus and Camphor essential oil for respiratory aid, Lavender essential oil for relaxation and Coriander and Juniper essential oils for healing and I have tried to enjoy the water and meditate a bit, focusing on how it feels to have my body relaxed. Believe it or not, it did the trick and the symptoms were actually better (I was in day 3 at that time). Obviously, Covid did not go away next day  But at least I did not experience the same excruciating body pain and I had a better mood over all, allowing me to go through it easier.
Now, related to my first experience, other members of my family actually tested positive and my aunt just went through it herself, however it took a toll on her mentally, especially because she was very worried for my grandma and how it will impact her and also because she has the tendency to panic easily and she was afraid of any potential long term impact. To aid with her overall sense of depression and because of my positive experience before, I have actually combined some essential oils again and forced her to take a long bath and try to relax and push away all the negative thoughts. Will be checking in with her in the next few days but I hope it did help a bit and alleviated her stress at least up to some extent. At the end of the day, any regular bath should give you a general sense of good. Having one infused with good intention and the magic of beneficial essential oils can only be even more efficient, right?

Right up my alley!! I actually made a pain roller for my hubby last night. He did something to his ribs over the weekend and we have no idea what. Our two running theories are (1) he ran into something sleepwalking (very possible) or (2) he had a severe coughing fit in his sleep but in both cases, they have lead to a possible fractured lower rib. There isn’t really anything the docs can do, they told him rest, no twisting, etc etc. I’ll have to look back at my notes to see what I put in the mix but I know it had peppermint because I can smell it when he puts it on.

Anywho, I am wanting to look up other options for him so this challenge fits perfectly with that!

Thank you  so much @BryWisteria

This one will be easier for me, the only problem is choosing which healing topic to write about!

I just want to give you my sincere thanks for last week’s challenge. Yes, it was very hard for me, but I feel lighter and brighter. It’s amazing how releasing a belief that no longer serves me has changed everything! I’m using my “Abundance Oil” each day and closing all my journal entries with “I am abundant!”

With Love & Abundance always…

That is amazing to hear, Marsha. It is always a great feeling to let go of something that no longer serves. May abundance abound in your life!

Pretty much 9 times out if 10 for every challenge I hit up my witchy library for ideas or some inspiration for a challenge entry…

And… I jumped the gun and originally was going to share a crystal healing ritual that I plan on doing for myself… I need to learn to read properly.

Luckily here’s one I prepared earlier. Mum has been having a lot of difficulty sleeping lately so she asked for my help for a better night’s sleep so… crystals to the rescue! “Sleep”

Let’s see we did this Saturday night just gone. Mum has said that she has been sleeping through the night so much better and is feeling like something has worked. So for good measure I gave mum a piece of Sodalite, Moonstone and Amethyst to keep under her pillow.

This crystal healing ritual comes from my latest addition to my witchy library… ‘Rock On: The Crystal Healing Guidebook for Spiritual Rebels’ by Kate Mantello

I am sorry there was so much information to share that I was a little bit of a lazy bones and I just took a few photos to share.

@Kasandra Hooray for cat magick! :smiley_cat: :sparkles: And cheers to that- a cat purr is one of the most soothing and destressing things I can think of . A shame our cat here never learned how to purr. No purr, only scream (we love him anyways lol) :black_cat:

@Sarafeena_Sage Oh no! Sending positive thoughts and healing energy your way- I hope your son recoveries quickly (he’s certainly in the best of loving care!) and also that you and your husband are able to avoid infection  Your recipes sound amazing, and we all know the best medicine is further enhanced when made with love, warm intentions, and a bit of magick! May it help heal those who are ill and keep the others healthy

@Anjelique I’m so glad your healing bath helped you with the symptoms- I totally agree that baths do wonders! :bathtub: You are very kind and thoughtful to share your bath recipe to help your aunt  I pray it helps her in the same way it has helped you feel better! Great work and thank you for sharing! :sparkles:

@Amaris_Bane Oh no! I’m sorry about your husband’s fractured rib, but goodness knows that he is in excellent hands- you have so many wonderful recipes and are a master with your healing, Amaris. I know you’ll be able to help him on his wholesome road to recovery! :raised_hands: Good luck and I hope you’re able to find the perfect treatment for him :two_hearts:

@Marsha I’m really glad you were able to find such positivity and brightness in last week’s theme, the pleasure is truly all mine, Marsha! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: In fact, I think I should be thanking you in advance- I know you are a healer heart and soul and I’m excited to hear what you will do for this challenge, whatever you choose is sure to be a blessing! Much love and abundance to you too :sparkles:

@Jessica72 You share some amazing resources, Jessica- they are always interesting to see and help to spark creativity! Thank you so much for sharing them  And please don’t hold back from doing self-care work this week if it calls to you- you’ve done perfectly on the theme with helping your mother with the sleep crystals, so please feel free to embark on “part 2 for you” of the healing challenge if you’d like :handshake:  Either way, great work and I hope the crystal ritual is able to help!

I want to do an energy healing. And I will combine it with my circle and the friends I got from the beastly challenge. I started with one dragon for air, there are three now, an orange, a black and a green dragon, there is still one crone ( or witch)for fire and she stays alone I know. There was one nimph for water there are three now, one for the waters and wells, one for the lunar energy, and one for star energies , and three gnomes in stead of one. One is a very practical one. He shows me practical solutions through images, one I discovered on my yourney in the woods, he is one with a white hat, and he is a way shower, and another one with an orange hat, and he is carrying me. I have never done a healing before with their help, but I like to try it out. And of course there is Brigid and Hern. Goddess and God.
I will talk to them, feel their energy and ask them for help with the healing.
After that I will connect with my higher self and activate the light of my higher self.
I just claim it, and trust that this is happening. It s so simple but it works for me.
And then I feel this light energy flowing through my body, through my cells, my organs, my grounding, my chakra’s, and my aura.
When I feel everything is tingling and flowing through me, I say out loud that I am connecting with the higher self of the person I am going to heal. This will happen tomorrow, and she knows it. I will try to visualize her higher self, the energy of it, and also visualize this energy flowing through her cells, her organs, her chakra’s her grounding and aura. I will probably discover by then where this is easy and where it is more difficult.
Then I will ask for divine source energy and ask for it to go where it is and how it is needed for her. And I will see and feel what happens.

The friend I am doing it for is a very sensitive person, so I know she will probable pick up the energies and also what it is doing for her.

I am going to share this experience after the healing but probably after tomorrow, or maybe in the evening.
What I also like to do is practice on who ever wants this here.
So if you like you can sent me a message. The first one is bingo. I am only doing one, because it takes some time.

I was looking in my ebay BOS because I knew there were healing spells in it. A lot of the pages are hard to read because of the weird fonts. This is not my challenge entry. I never knew there are deities named Advil, Ibuprofen and Tylenol. Lol!

Wholesome Healers challenge submission:

When I saw this week’s challenge I immediately thought about using crystals (I’m trying to learn more about them than just cleansing and the basic 10 or so I use all the time) in the chemo infusion room next week when I begin my cancer journey. However my first treatment is the day after this challenge is done, so I decided to learn about which ones would help with this journey generally and do something towards this:
Stones are an excellent tool for those looking to bring a sense of calm and balance.

From https://www.crystalsandstones.com/crystals-for-healing-cancer:
Stones are an excellent tool for those looking to bring a sense of calm and balance. Crystals are a great natural way to speed up the healing process. It’s a controversial topic, but focus on your well being. When selecting your healing stones, listen to your intuition while attuning to the energy of crystals.
Crystals have the ability to restore the physical body, once activated and cleansed frequently. You’ll start feeling healthier and more energetic.
Consider selecting your stones with purpose. They rely on setting your intention, meditating, and focusing on what you want from them. Let your intuition guide you in selecting the right crystal for your needs!

I’m going to use Rose Quartz, Malachite, Citrine, Smokey Quartz, Selenite. I’ll set my intentions and use it prior to my Monday port placement surgery. Curiously I already use these specific crystals, the key is in selecting stones with purpose, setting intention and using them in a new way based on what I want. I learned that this week!

I have a second entry below, fyi. I’ll make it separate so as not to make this one so long! :purple_heart:

My family has always been into natural remedies and herbalism and have passed down many of their techniques, methods, skills and remedies to me. I am a certified herbalist practitioner and am consulted by my friends, family and colleagues on ‘home remedies’ every week. I never considered it as part of my practice, but I have always said when I make each tincture, tea, or other remedy that it is imbued and made with love. #loveistheanswer

My husband’s brother’s entire family; he, his wife and two kids have covid right now and asked me to make my cough syrup for them on Friday — I have shared the remedy I used below although there are several more that I also use based on the symptoms and severity.
Wellness mama has this recipe that is kid safe.

I thought I’d show a very old recipe my great grandmother penned back in the 1800’s and I have it in my Family Grimoire - This recipe is for posterity only, do not try it, I cannot guarantee its safety or legality however it was used in my family and others for over a century before a couple of the ingredients were regulated or banned. I thought it would be fun to show:

Here are the ingredients for those who can’t read her writing!! I’ve included links to some interesting information about some of them. And specifically to note is that they used this on INFANTS AND CHILDREN TOO - wow what a long way we’ve come!!
Ingredients:

1.5 oz Simple Syrup

1.5 oz Syrup Rhubarb (chopped rhubarb, sugar, and fresh lemon juice)

3/4 oz Squills

2 oz Sarsaparilla

3 oz paregoric - controlled substance/prescription only - made from opium tincture (laudanum) or from powdered opium and includes anise oil, camphor, benzoic acid, glycerin, and diluted alcohol

4 oz Port Wine

3/4 dr. (Dram) tincture of lobelia

1/2 dr. Capsicum (a chemical contained in the skin of a chili pepper)

Adults take one teaspoon every 1 to 2 hours
Children take 1/2 teaspoon every 1 to 2 hours
Infants take 10 drops every 1 to 2 hours
