:wand_tarot: Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Wonderful Wands

Merry meet!

Thank you once again to all those who joined in for last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge - Catch-Up :clock2:

The challenge clock has started once again and we are off with challenge #161 - it’s time to bring out one of a witch’s most beloved tools! :sparkles:

The theme for this week’s challenge is…

Wands Challenge Spells8

:wand_tarot: :sparkles: Wonderful Wands :magic_wand: :medical_symbol:

Usually listed as one of the essential tools for casting spells, a wand can serve many various purposes in spellwork and crafting.

The Wand is a prominent tool because it symbolizes the Will of the person who performs the Magic, and serves above all to direct the energy, and sometimes to cast the Circle of Protection. It is highly esteemed within most Witchcraft traditions.

The wand, like the athame, is used to direct energy. It is usually made of wood and can be decorated or inscribed with symbols. It is a projective tool that represents the Element Fire, although some consider it to be a tool ruled by Air.

From Spells8: The Magic Wand

Although a wand is not required for casting spells, it functions like all magickal tools- when used with intention, it can greatly enhance the spellwork being cast. No matter what purpose a witch chooses to use their wand for, it is a beloved assistant in your practice!

This week’s challenge is all about magickal wands - but as always, how you do so is up to you!

So are you ready? Because it’s…

STEP 1 : A Witch’s Wand :wand_tarot:

This challenge is all about magickal wands- but how you choose to take on this theme is up to you!

Show Off Your Wand! :camera_flash:

Have a wand of your own? Feel free to show it off and share all about it for your challenge entry this week! :magic_wand:

  • How you choose your wand
  • What wood/materials it is made from
  • How you use it in your practice
  • Etc.

Make a Wand :wood:

Crafting a wand is a very special process that creates a deep bond between the practitioner and their new sacred tool. It can often take a lot of time, but rest assured that there’s no need to rush- sharing your wand-crafting plan or beginning the wand-crafting process can count as your entry this week.

Consecrate or Cleanse Your Wand :bubbles:

When welcoming a new sacred tool into your practice, many witches choose to consecrate it- a process that involves preparing the tool to be used in your practice. Consecration is usually done on new tools, although it can be done at any time. Cleansing is the process of washing away negativity and refreshing a tool for use in the Craft.

I haven’t used my wand for a long time (I like to use my right hand or visualization for creating circles), but this week is perfect for changing that!

 I have a wand, but never used it. Wands = being organised in my mind, not my strong point with magic. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye: I’m going to have to think how to work this one.

I have some crystal chips, too. :crystal_ball: :magic_wand: Honestly speaking, this is exactly what i had in mind for my wand, since long! :innocent: :astonished: :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Just perfect & divine timing as they say. :purple_heart:

Hmmmm have to put my thinking cap for this one. I have a gifted resin wand, and a selenite/satin spar wand, and created my own from wood and beads for a challenge before but I have to be honest, I don’t use any of the 3 I have.

I’m not sure if I’m not a “wand person” or if I just haven’t found/created the right one. :woman_shrugging:

edit I’m giving it one last try. I have started making another one, well actually it’s made, I just need to sand paint, and seal it before I call it a day!

Aw thank you so much this was a test wand as I had never made one before and I thought I am going to give it a go  next wand will be from a willow tree branch need to go and find one first

Well, For my challenge entry I would like to present a multifunctional wand. (that I ordered, but it has not yet arrived) :magic_wand: :sparkles: :crescent_moon:

This magical tool is also a hairpin. For your “asian style bun”. I live in a one room apartment, so not much space for clutter. That’s why All objects are useful and have their own place.
This hair pin is compact, and can be a very nice accessory. (Moreover, they come in black, too)

I can later decorate it with gems, flowers, chains, colourful thread, braids or feathers, maybe even repaint it. :purple_heart: :gem:

Wow, that is awesome EvaCVM! I would have never thought about it being a hair pin and a wand. What a great idea!

Thank you, it was hard to find this one. Most of hairpins nowadays are plastic or resin. I wanted natural material to connect it to elements and nature itself.
As wands are a fire sign - wood is the best option.

I’m happy you found it!
