🫶 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - HandCrafting

Merry Meet!

Thank you once again to everyone who joined in for last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge - A Journey of Change :railway_track:

After taking some time to reflect on how far you’ve come on your magickal path, it’s time to buckle down and put all you’ve learned to work! :grinning: :hammer_and_wrench:

The theme for this week is…

Spells8 HandCrafting Craft Art Witch Challenge

:magic_wand: :art: HandCrafting :thread: :raised_hands:

We’re taking handcrafting and making it handCrafting- this challenge is all about homemade magick!

If you cast magick, you are a creator! By manifesting your intentions, you are able to take a vision and bring it to life. This week celebrates that wonderful ability and is dedicated to all of the creators- those who breathe life into their dreams and visions.

The focus this time is on tangible products of your magickal practices- whether you paint your practice in color, create music, write chants, sew, draw, make collages, or more- feel free to explore your magick and create in whatever way you choose :grinning:

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

This week’s theme challenges you to draw on your magick to create something - but as always, how you do so is up to you!

So are you ready? Because it’s…

CHALLENGE TIME!

Feel free to step outside your comfort zone and try something new- have you ever wanted to try painting/drawing/writing/cooking/etc? Now is your chance to give it a try!

With the support of your coven, you have nothing to lose- but lots to gain :handshake:

I have several projects I’ve been collecting supplies for. I just need to figure out which one I can complete in a week!

Thank you @BryWisteria for this challenge. Crafting is one of my favorite things!! Which includes sewing, crocheting, wood burning, beading, etc. and lately I’ve been learning how to knit! I love to make and create things, especially if I can use natural items or recycle or reuse something from the trash bin!

Also, I like to watch youtubers make things to give me ideas or inspiration

Soooooooo Exciting!! I can’t wait to see what everyone makes, I’m giddy lol

I’ve been interested in origami since I read about Sadako Sasaki, a Japanese girl who survived the atomic bombing of Hiroshima, but fell ill with leukemia and died in 1955. There is a Japanese legend that if one folds 1,000 paper cranes, the gods will grant them a wish. Sadako spent much of her time folding paper cranes while she was in the hospital. Sadako and the Thousand Paper Cranes by Eleanor Coerr says that she only managed to fold 644 cranes and her friends folded the remaining 356. However, Masahiro, Sadako’s brother, says in his book that she exceeded her goal.
For this challenge, I’m thinking of folding a dragon origami. Hopefully, I can find some useful videos on YouTube. I have tried some harder origami and the tutorials either go too fast or skip some steps.

Ok… I will admit I let out a squee when I saw this challenge!

With the 100 challenge, if I’d had more energy one of the things on my list was to complete a crafty project. I bought a tarot deck bag pattern from Roots, Stones, and Bones over a year ago but haven’t gotten any further than cutting out material for 3 bags and only pinning one of them. And there they have sat for… I dunno 6 months or more?

Ideally, I’d like to get all three if not four done, however, I will be realistic and hope to get one with a stretch goal of two finished for this challenge.

Here’s the one I’d like to complete for my Grimalkin Tarot

As well as pictures of my other fabric choices for the remaining 3 deck bags.

The last one is for my shadow oracle deck

Yay thanks for the great challenge and the push to get this done!

Love this! I had an idea of somwthing i needed for the full moon. There was a full moon affirmation post i just loved and i really needed with the craziness of life at the moment. I mean i was near tears before left for work. N full moon tonight so i charged my crystals last night n will fk ahain tonight n tommorow but i wanted to adapt the full moon affirmation ritual into this challenge and create a art project out of that ritual that start tonight and incorporate art, cryatals, candles tea etc. Im still woeking on the idea but thought id share my initial thoughts. Plus its getting me focusing on a positive to look forward to and helping me stay positive even if things have got insane around me im focusing on being grounded and positive even when the storm is raging around me. And thinking about this is helping wuth that. Come what may the next two days at work and the rest of time with second job and now full time study. . Im not helpless i habe somethung i can do about things to help myself and also can be creative in process. N it reminds me that even when my time n energy bring pulled into so many directions that i still need to take time for self care n compassion. The combination of tge arty challenge n adfirmation ritual is Definatly needed n welconr at this time . N being full moon tbats even better .

@Sarafeena_Sage Hooray!!! I am loving your enthusiasm- and oh my goodness, you do so many amazing crafts! I cannot wait to see which project you decide to jump into this week- looking forward to it, Sarall! Have fun!

@MeganB Yay for spell jars and other fun things! :jar: :grinning:

@Amaris_Bane Sleep pillows are awesome- I’ve been tucking little lavender sachets under our pillows at night and they work wonders :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Have fun with your pillow making!

@Kasandra I’ve heard of the 1,000 paper cranes story, and a few museums I’ve visited have had displays of cranes. There’s something about them all on display that takes your breath away- it’s really moving to see. I tried in the past but I only made it to 100- origami is fun but it does take a lot of concentration! I’m sure you’ll do wonderfully with your origami dragon- wishing you all the best with it! :sparkles:

@Artemisia Ohhhh!!! I’m such a fabric gremlin- I gush over pretty fabric and that is some really gorgeous material right there- those are all going to make amazing tarot bags! I really love how you’ve picked a theme special to each of your decks. Good luck and have fun with your sewing! :thread:

@Garnet Garnet!!! I didn’t know you could draw like that- you’ve got talent, my friend!! Eyes and hands are really tough to draw in my opinion, but you nailed it- this is so beautiful! :sparkles::blush: Thank you so much for sharing!

@TheMuslimWitch No worries at all- if you find the time, feel free to jump in and do some crafting! If you’re able to, I hope you have fun with your project :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Phoenix_Fire It sounds like you have a lot going on- I hope things quiet down and you’re able to find some peace and relaxation soon  I love the idea of unlocking your positivity through creative outlets- take that beautiful power of yours and use it to find your happiness, Danni! Wishing you all the best- good luck!

Oh I love this one, I am still very busy doing jobs and tired when I am home, but this week I made mandalas with the people I work with. I wanted to make a special one just for me, with symbols and meaningful figures in it. Saturday is my day so let’s see what I can make of it
I also have a pot with St. John’s wort in oil , and today I saw it s red already so I can filter it this weekend. Love the color of this oil!
I love making things, makes me happy

Oh, how I love this! I have a tooooooon of seed beads sitting around. It never occurred to me to weave, stitch something witchy with them! What a great idea and this turned out lovely! Did you loom weave, peyote, or brick stitch? (it’s been too long )

Weeeellll… I hear the words crafty and start looking at pictures and down the rabbit hole I go. It probably won’t be done (dried) in time but I had to make myself a dried herb wreath after spying it following the link to Easy DIY Herbal Crafts listed above.

My six bundles of rosemary, lemon balm, thyme, and sage mixed herbs.

To become this hopefully

Thank you!!! It is actually Peyote Stitch. It takes a bit longer than loom but for me it’s a bit more rewarding at the end
