🎎 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - A Witch's Collection

Merry meet!

Thank you once again to everyone who joined in for last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge - The Wheel of the Year: Pagan Holidays :wheel:

After taking some time to appreciate the cycles of the year, we’re stepping away from the calendar- to appreciate something else within our sacred spaces. Calling all collectors! :mega:

The theme for this week’s challenge is…

Witch Collection Spells8 Challenge

:jar: :dolls: A Witch’s Collection :gem: :package:

What things do you collect in your Craft?

As members of the material world, it’s in our nature to be drawn to things- items that bring us joy, help us feel comfort, rekindle precious memories, or simply look nice in our spaces.

While it certainly isn’t necessary to have special tools or items in order to practice magick, many witches find themselves collecting things that help or inspire their Craft. The items one collects often paint a picture about both the person and the type(s) of magick they enjoy most. Having a large assortment of teas and teaware, for example, likely points to someone who enjoys tea rituals, meditation, or tasseography. Someone with a hoard of crystals probably enjoys working with stones, lithomancy, or crystal magick- and so on.

Take some time to look around your space- what do you collect? And what insight do these things offer about your practice? :sparkles:

~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~ * ~

This week’s challenge is all about collections - but as always, how you do so is up to you!

So are you ready? Because it’s…

CHALLENGE TIME!

Don’t have a collection yet? Well, now is as great time to start as any! All you need is to set your intention- begin by deciding what type(s) of item you wish to gather.

If material goods don’t appeal to you, then consider making a spiritual collection instead- just as one can gather trinkets, one can collect memories, emotions, or experiences too.

Feel free to share about your spiritual or emotional collections as part of this challenge (note that if your entry contains sensitive content, please share it in the more private A Sacred Space - thank you!)

Challenge Entry

I love this weeks challenge! Im that one weird friend that everyone has who loves seeing how everyone decorates their space. Just walking into someone’s home feeling their energy and seeing how they express themselves is a wonderful experience. I want to apoloigize from the start i added several pictures to my entry.
I love to collect crystals, stones, rocks, books, notebooks, herbs, crystal balls and anything else that calls out to me. I will use some of the rocks and stones to use to decorate lanterns for myself and other people. I had several important people to me that have passed away over the years. So i have a display with the handouts you get at their funerals. I look at them each day and find myself wishing they were here and telling them i love and miss them. The navy uniform in one of the pictures was the one my father wore and he gave to me before her passed away from colon cancer 7 years ago.
I love to sit with a good book and try to learn somwthing new each month. I will also take notes because i have to go back and reread sometimes to be able to optain the knowledge. I find myself since joining this community that i have been alot more reading anot note taking and i believe it will help in the end.

I look forward to seeing and reading what everyone collects.
Blessed be

Challenge Entry-A Witch’s Collection
As I’m just starting out, my collection is quite limited, my lack of space and need to keep things concealed imposes a limit. I’ve heard hobbyists say they really have two hobbies: whatever the hobby itself is, and buying things for said hobby. However, I can outline what I would like to have in my collection if space and concealment were no issue.

First, a nice cabinet or set of shelves to store everything in, and a spot to leave an altar set up permanently. Books, definitely, can’t have too many of those. I’d love to have some more crystals, I have little bottles of crystal chips but I know there’s some frequently used ones I don’t have. I’d like to do more with candles, so a nice big pack of spell candles. And a spot to grow herbs, either outside or in pots, and a space to store the dried ones.

I haven’t had the chance to acquire allot of tools but this first picture is of my essentials candles, crystals, salts ,sage/palo santo, organza bags, parchment paper and what I use most my cauldron. The second picture is all my herbs and the third picture are all the potion bottles I’ve collected and stuff to dress my candles like glitter and foil pieces. It’s the new moon :new_moon_with_face: so I am working on building my relationship with Hecate. Working on the shawdow I am at the crossroads of the threshold and I am honoring the call! This is one of my statues and I have one other and thinking of getting a statue of Persephone Queen of hell! She was guarded by Hecate during the dark soul of the night and so I embrace the darkness calling in the light. I gave our dark mother a fancy feast so I could join her heard. I love the symbolism the key :key: I ask you for the key of wisdom

The keys to the gate that opens for me! Also a gate that closes! I am at the crossroads asking to give me her guidance, guardian, guide and gatekeeper!
Thank you Hecate
Hail Hecate! Mighty Queen of the witches thank you for kliedokus Keeper of the keys! I am attending to you tonight for your protection!

CHALLENGE ENTRY

I’m not organised in my collections, it’s chaotic. :joy:. But I managed to gather some stuff and do photos of it on my table for this challenge. I keep stuff everywhere. In my sock draws there are tarot cards, I have books under the coffee table, by bedside, in kitchen etc. “Wherever I lay my hat, that’s my “stuff”!” (to steal a line from Paul Young’s song). I’m building up a Loki stash of books so they take pride of place.
I don’t keep alot of crystals, herbs, potions. I tend to use substitutes so use alot of garlic, rosemary, white candles, quartz, so this is in the kitchen in general, as opposed to having a witchy kitchen (I still have to be a little “in the closet” for the sake of some extended family, thankfully my chaotic nature seems to “hide” alot of my stuff, or maybe Loki “blinds them?” :person_shrugging:).
Here’s a few pictures.

My Loki books above

My dolls

My favourite pictures of my handsome beastie

My cards n runes

More books and stash

My favourite crystals
So there’s more stuff, here and there, throughout the house, but I can’t find it. :joy:
One day I’ll get organized but not today. :sparkling_heart:

CHALLENGE ENTRY

This is my collection of tarot/oracle cards.

I will admit that i do tend to stick with the Ryder Waite cards most of the time but sometimes the others call out. Most of these were from a magazine subscription that was available here in the UK where you got a new set of cards every fortnight.

I used my Auset oracle daily and my moonology around the different phases of the moon.

Using cards has become part of my daily practice.

Blessed be

Alan
