🤝 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - One Witch to Another

Merry meet to all!

Thank you once again to all those who joined in for last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge- Salty Spellwork :salt:

After sharing our spellwork with salt, it’s time to share an experience of another kind- a bond that stretches across the coven, from one witch to another :handshake:

The theme for this week’s challenge was suggested by the friendly @praecog29 and is…

Witchy Challenge One Witch to Another

:mage: :woman_mage: Sharing Witchy Wisdom :handshake: :open_book:

Modern-day witches or pagans from the past,
Solitary folks or those in a local gathering,
Wiccans, Eclectics, people of all paths,
Practioners near and far, far and wide-

No matter where or when or why someone practices magick, we are all guaranteed to have something in common: we draw on wisdom from one another.

As a nod to the community and the interconnected nature of practicing magick, this challenge is an information exchange- sharing witchy wisdom amongst the coven!

This week, take a moment to realize and appreciate those who have contributed to your magickal practice in some way, shape, or form by sharing a piece of wisdom you discovered- whether it was from a coven member, a post in the forum, a book, or a witchy teacher in your life.

Doing so not only serves as a reflection of what you’ve learned, but also helps to spread useful witchy wisdom to others who could gain from it as well :handshake:

So, are you ready?

Hmm, I can’t wait to see what I’ll come up with. I’ve got so many beautiful witchy friends that has taught me infinite wisdom. I think I may have an idea of how I’ll be doing this. Thank you for this week challenge @BryWisteria

There are so many here that have absolutely changed me! I have way too much to say.:smiling_face_with_three_hearts::heart_eyes: but I love this. It’s good to stop and look back with gratitude. Once again, hell yeah, @praecog29 !!

This challenge is really amazing.

I’ve been learning so much with the people here, the courses on spells8, and some YouTubers. It’s a very good time to feel grateful to the universe for bringing us together and share so much with one another.

Thank you, @praecog29 and @BryWisteria :woman_mage:

For this challenge I HAVE to shout out my mom, @GypsyRed. She’s the one who peaked my interest as a young kid in the nature based spiritual paths. Once I was ready to accept my path, she shared several books and even her own notes with me to help me learn. She helps me with tarot readings when I get stuck or confused. And we exchange information on a regular basis. I’m truly lucky that I have such a great spirit to guide me on my journey.

Thank you, Mom, for all the knowledge you have shared and for allowing me to share with you what I learn.

Edit to add that if I had to narrow down one thing that I’ve learned from her over the years it’s to listen. Listen to the Spirit, listen to the Earth, listen to my elders, listen to my peers, listen to my opposites (I don’t won’t to say enemy). They all have important knowledge to share of you just listen.

I’ve learned so much on my journey it’ll be a challenge to decide what’s most valuable to share and to express it in a brief format! However this is a great topic to motivate, educate, recall, share sources and express our gratitude! Everyone should bookmark this post feed as I foresee this challenge Topic generating a one of a kind resource list.

A few people have mentioned that they might have a hard time just choosing one powerful thing they’ve learned in their Craft- but no worries there!

If you’re having a tough time choosing just one, please know that you are welcome to share more than one bit of witchy wisdom you’ve gained if you’d like to :woman_mage: :sparkles: :open_book:

(There’s only one badge for the challenge, though- multiple entries are entirely optional and won’t result in multiple badges!)

You’re very welcome @Christina4- I’m looking forward to seeing your idea come to life! I hope you enjoy the challenge

Can’t wait to see what you’ll come up with, @Kasandra! Have fun :tada:

I love your excitement @sarah29, and agreed! It’s a great opportunity for personal reflection and gratitude too :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

I’m glad you like the challenge, @RyuWyn- you’re very welcome! Feel free to share your favorite witchy tips from your studies- it sounds like you are exploring some really wonderful aspects of magick! :sparkling_heart:

I’m sure whatever you choose will be wonderful, @Peaches- looking forward to your entry!

That is a beautiful shout-out @Amaris_Bane, thanks for sharing your gratitude! And props to your mother @GypsyRed- she carries some wonderful wisdom about the Earth and the knowledge to be gained from listening. Many thanks for sharing!

I think your Sight is right on, @JasmineTheBlueJ- I’m also excited to hear (and learn!) from the jewels of witchy wisdom shared in the challenge this week :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: It’s sure to be educational and inspirational!

There are so many things that I have learned since I joined the coven. One of the very first things I learned here was from @MeganB during a very emotional day for me but this stood out to me amongst all the other reassuring wisdom that day

What you’re experiencing is called Clairgustance, or “clear smelling”. It’s a form of psychic ability where you connect with Spirits or the Otherworld through smell. It’s also one way that Spirits may come to us and give us messages.

My next 2 tips were from another rough day in which I learned a sad lesson the hard way but now I know what I did wrong thanks to the talented @christina4 some days I don’t know what I would do without her wisdom and support :hugs:

Labradorite can’t get wet. When you watered Alvin, it was (sorry to say this) actually killing him. It’s a toxic stone once it’s wet.

But thanks to @Abs53 I have strong faith and renewed hope that my sweet Alvin will tough it out and survive

If there are any parts of the plant that are salvagable, like a stem or two, cut the bottom off with a clean sharp knife and repot it in clean (very slightly damp soil). It is possible to repropergate them this way…

But even with all this wonderful information available the most important and truly amazing thing I learned here came from a reading I asked to be done privately during Freebie Friday :sparkles: With @MeganB And I am so proud to share it with you all now (a bold move for me because it’s a little bit on the vulnerable side and I try not to expose vulnerability if I can avoid it) because now I know that while I may be struggling to keep my head above water because I’m physically alone and have little to no support system in my real world life that within this coven I am safe, I am valued and that I’m never really alone because I am not just part of an online coven but I am a part of a family full of wise, gifted, empathetic like minded that are always here for me when I need that extra pep talk and will help me through this amazing journey I’m on. (Once again thanks for the amazing advice and the most comforting thing I’ve ever heard at my loneliest hour. You’re truly amazing Megan :hugs: )

Strength Reversed :: Now is not the time to be strong and hold yourself together. Lean into your support system and don’t be afraid to crumble. Give yourself that space to feel what you’re feeling and process it. After that, lean on your loved ones and friends for support as you pick up the pieces and power through. Your support system is going to be a big factor in getting you through this part of your life. Let them

[quote]
Situation: how do I start picking up the pieces and start moving on with life now that my marriage has ended?

Thank you all for sharing your wisdom with me allowing me to become a much stronger witch but most of all for being so supportive and caring and being the family that I got to choose when I wasn’t given a real family by birth. I’m so beyond blessed to be able to lean on and learn from you all and can see the progress I am making in becoming not only a stronger witch but a stronger woman as well by the steps I’ve taken in the few months since I met you all. Every night when I count my blessings each of you mentioned (and so many that I didn’t @BryWisteria , @Francisco, @praecog29 , @Amaris_Bane ,@Peaches, @crystal24 @Amethyst @Princess_Tara @Susurrus @anon87969570 and the countless others that my pregnancy brain is not bringing to mind) are on the list and I’m so glad that you are all with me while I’m transforming to the best version of myself that I can be.
Blessed be

I’m editing to add this brand new piece of information that was shared with me by @JasmineTheBlueJ today and as it came to me while the challenge was still open and at a time when I needed it most as with the rest of the things I shared with you all earlier in the post I felt it only fitting that it be included in my entry.

When trees get sick or injured the other trees come together to try to heal one another and offer support to there injured friend. This is why we find trees grown together in nature , it’s it’s way of telling us less intelligent species ( humans ) that there is strength and support in loving one another

I have a suggestion for Alvin: * A banana is the perfect fruit for growing a new aloe vera plant. Leave the skin around the banana and cut out a small square in the middle. Insert a piece of the aloe vera plant and leave it for at least one day. The banana will turn brown, but when you remove the piece of aloe vera from the banana , you will see that the plant has many new roots !

This is why you should put an aloe vera plant in a banana

In 1960 Field after field of farmland was being leased out to big companies to grow green beans or yellow beans. in the far west of New York State.
I decided I was going to surprise my Mom with some string-beans and took a great big paper bag to the field behind our house and for several hours picked beans.
I got second degree burns (I wore a halter top).
Blessedly, my great Aunt Phoebe, was visiting that summer because my mom had hepatitis [aka: yellow jaundice]. Mom was almost bedridden and didn’t know what to do, Aunt told her to get some rest she had an old remedy to take care of it.
She made up some sort of liquid, cooled it and put a wet bandage on my burns. I swear that it kept me from blistering and in a few days, the burns were gone.
Well, after a few years I finally asked Mom what Aunt Phoebe used and she answered “Tea.” Right, Mom, Tea.
I looked up what if anything could have been in tea to sooth sunburn. Sure enough, an old country remedy was tea, why? Tannic acid.

  1. Apply freshly brewed tea after it has cooled to sunburned skin using a clean cloth. The tannic acid in black tea reportedly helps draw heat from sunburned skin, and aids in restoring the pH balance. Add mint to the tea for a more cooling effect.
  2. Apply teabags soaked in cold water to sunburned eyelids to soothe the burn and reduce inflammation.
I wish I had been older, I could have learned so much from her. But at 12…?
How about that? We lost so much when we lost the 3 generation families, Didn’t we?

This one is a bit difficult for me be absent I can’t choose just 1 or 2. I do remember being very welcomed when I joined the site.

I think 1 of my favorite things & the entire reason I started figuring out using YouTube; are @SilverBear videos & especially the Protection from Draining Energies & her What is Florida Water and Why Do We Want It? :green_heart: posts. The latter was my first time doing any kind of magic simmer pot, potion, spell.

@christina4 has been a wealth if knowledge regarding crystals & using them. She is wonderful with crystal grids & assisted me with my 1st ever grid! :parrot:

I have learned a lot about Celtic Paganism & working with Brigid from @MeganB. She has really been a great help through Freebie Fridays & other readings. I think it’s cute that my ancestors like her so much. I havent gotten any other readings from anyone else, aside from myself :joy:

There are so many more & I would be listing a good portion of the coven :infinite_roots: :two_hearts:

@Amethyst does a wonderful job making the meanings of tarot cards a bit more manageable for me too! She is great with her haiku. I look forward to reading them.

@Abs53 initially made me want to work with & learn about astrology more in depth. Now it is a significant part of my practice.

I am going to stop. Thank you to everyone, including the moderators & creator for everything. I learn something new every day. Sometimes multiple times in 1 day. I’m not leaving anyone out. I appreciate & :two_hearts: you all. You are an extension of my family.
