How to Make War Water
What is War Water?
War Water – also called witch water – is a potent brew that can be used for both protective and baneful magic. With its origins in European folk magick and Southern American Voodoo, hoodoo, and witchcraft, it holds a powerful and mysterious energy that can be harnessed for a variety of purposes.
War Water For Protection
Despite its ominous name, War Water can be an invaluable spell for protection and light magick. Utilize its powers to swiftly dispel curses, banish hexes, and eradicate any trace of negativity and malevolence directed at you. Whenever you feel overwhelmed by darkness or negativity, harness the essence of War Water to restore a sense of balance in your life.
War Water For Cursing & Baneful Magic
When practicing offensive magic, War Water can be a potent tool for casting curses and bringing harm upon your enemies. This mystical concoction is uniquely tailored to target a specific individual, making it a powerful weapon in the hands of a skilled witch.
You will need:
- A glass jar with a lid
- Iron nails
- Spanish moss
- Swamp water
How To Make Witch Water:
- Clean out your jar and cleanse it of any lingering energies. You can use any method for cleansing, including smoke, incense, water, crystals, or sound cleansing.
- Fill your jar with water, preferably sourced from a local swamp or pond. If you cannot source swamp or pond water, try collecting it from a stagnant puddle.
- Carefully add the nails and Spanish moss to your jar and screw on the lid. As you do so, be sure to consider the intention behind your War Water. Imagine all the harm you wish it to cause, or what sort of misfortunes may fall upon the recipient. If you will be using the spell for protection, consider the reason why and the effects that you would wish upon any who may choose to cross you. Imagine all of that intent filling your jar with each ingredient that you add.
- Throughout the first week, you will be putting the jar under a process called “breathing“. To do this, simply open and close your jar occasionally to allow air in, thus speeding up the oxidation process.
- During this time, the nails will rust and the moss will rot, turning the swamp water a deep red, brown, or black color. You may notice that the jar will begin to smell swampier as you open it up throughout the week.
- Allow the jar to sit unopened for a few more weeks. Over this time, the bacteria inside will fester.
How To Use Witch Water For Protection:
Once you’ve created your Witch Water, you may sprinkle some around the perimeter of your home or property as a form of protection from any who may wish you harm.
How To Use Witch Water For Baneful Magic:
Traditionally, once the witch water is ready, a practitioner would bring it to the property of their enemy and smash it on the doorstep or at their enemy’s feet, forcing them to walk through the cursed land.
Alternatively, you may break it elsewhere on your intended recipient’s property, or create a sort of perimeter of misfortune that they are forced to walk through.
In modern practice, performing a ritual that results in broken glass on someone’s doorstep could result in damages, harassment charges, or other legal trouble. If this concerns you, you can simply open the jar of War Water and empty its contents into the intended location.
While this method is certainly less flamboyant, it is also much safer for both the practitioner as well as any innocent bystanders who might find themselves within the curse’s range. However, there’s also something to be said about the powerful burst of energy that is released with the breaking of the jar.
More Tips For Making & Using War Water
- To make War Water more effectively disastrous, some practitioners choose to add some of their own urine to the mixture. Do this at your own risk.
- Consider all who may come in contact with your curse, including children and innocent bystanders. Leaving broken glass or other harmful substances for others to stumble upon is just bad practice.
- Never curse someone on a whim. Always think long and hard about the results of your magic; a decision made in a moment of anger may have everlasting effects.
