Do you Astral Travel?

Do you Astral travel? IF so, how do you do it? I have astral oils, salves, etc and try to do the meditations but so far, nothing seems to work. I did have one really really real like dream… was that it?? If so I sure would like to go back there. Let me know if you do, and how you do it, I am so curious…thanks!

I would also like to know! I’ve been interested in astral travel since I was a kid and have always been fascinated by the idea, but have never been able to induce it myself. I have had many lucid dreams, which is what it sounds like you may have experienced, but again - I’ve never been able to induce them on my own.

As far as I understand:

  • Astral Travel: Any conscious exploration of the Astral plane (a higher dimension).

  • Astral Projection: The ability to go through the process of sleep consciously while meditating.

  • Lucid Dreaming: The ability to become aware while sleeping and gain consciousness inside a dream.

Both Lucid Dreaming and Astral Projection are ways of getting to a higher state of consciousness (within the Astral plane) to then Astral Travel.

I experimented a lot with lucid dreaming and had a number of amazing out of body experiences this way. But I also experienced it with a therapist while under hypnosis (not asleep) and spontaneously while awake once.

The experiences are very subjective. There are claims that in the astral plane you can interact with other travelers, or gain information from the real world (like sending someone a message through a dream). I don’t think this has been scientifically proven. Others claim astral projection is just an intense dream about leaving your body and going to an alternate plane of reality.

It’s an incredibly complex subject. Here’s a Youtube channel/podcast called Astral Origins that goes deep into it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyEDpB-yOZE

When you say a therapist is this in person or online, and how do you make sure you aren’t getting scammed?

I did it in person throughout the course of several 2-hour sessions. It can be expensive but if you feel you need it, then it’s going to be worth it for your mental health. Also your health insurance may cover it.

You can only know that after you met the person and went through it. Most of the time you won’t be getting scammed if it helps you in some way. Otherwise, try to go with someone recommended by a person you trust.

Hi everyone! I hope you don’t mind me rekindling this conversation, I’m really interested in astral travel/projection myself.

While lucid dreaming comes quite naturally to me, I’ve been so far unsuccessful in astral projection. Personally, I like to attempt it at my altar within a cast circle for protection; since I’ve never done it before, it’s also a little bit scary
I like to listen to some guided meditation for astral projection (for example this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tDi2iTy4BkE&t=1523s), since it helps me concentrate and not get lost in my thoughts. I have been close a couple of times; you know the stage when you’re very relaxed and your body starts to vibrate? But at that point I usually get too excited about it and my concentration/relaxation slips :woman_facepalming:
I guess it just takes a lot of practice and patience, but I’m very curious to hear about everyone’s experiences with this

Blessed be :star2:

Every different school of meditation has its own explanation for that vibration or buzz: Materialists will say it’s related to changes in the nervous system (porous breathing), Buddhists will mention the first jhana, Taoists will say you are activating your second energetic body, and so on…

There isn’t really concrete proof for one explanation over another, so make of that what you will. Regardless, it’s something that happens when you develop strong concentration and your body is very relaxed. It’s a good sign. :+1:

It could also be that you were falling asleep or going into sleep paralysis. If this is the case, work on meditating while sitting down instead of laying flat.

You’re going to get a lot of weird physical sensations. Ignoring them is part of the exercise, like having an itch that you’re not supposed to scratch, eventually it’ll go away. :person_in_lotus_position:

Yes and lucid dreaming. I did quite a lot of it a few years ago, and then just kinda stopped, been working on doing it lately, and its working. I like the guided meditations online as well.
I have been doing Joel T for a long time! He is great with a lot of meditations. I also like Jason Stephenson,

I have books at my shop about astral travel and how to do it, and the OBE. I have sold several and they said it helped them a lot. Here is the link The good thing about it is, you don’t have books to pack around, but can read on your cell or kindle

Thank you for sharing your wisdom, @roxanne! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts: Like a few of the others I’ve had some luck with lucid dreaming (not much until I started using a personal dream symbol- a clock :mantelpiece_clock:). I’m content to keep working on lucid dreaming for the time being, but when I’m ready to move on to Astral travel- I’ll be sure to take a look at your book! :open_book::comet::star2: Thank you!

I’m just about to embark on a month or so of looking at the dream world closely for a course I’m doing. My teacher said a great way to get into a lucid dream is to find an object. It could be a necklace or your favourite crystal or anything. Set an intention to find this object in your dream. Once you find it, pick it up and you’ll realise your dreaming and you’ll be awake. I haven’t tried it yet but I’m going to. I’d love to hear your experiences if you try it to  We’ve been set homework to meet others from the course in our dreams to. I’m pretty excited about having the time set aside for such an adventure.

Very interesting topic. I think I’ve had intense feelings of my mind/soul (?) trying to detach from my body. It was never induced or wanted. However, on numerous occasions I’ve felt this tugging of trying to leave my body, and recalling i didn’t want too, because it felt kinda of scary and unsure. It always occured when i was asleep. But, i always knew it was different than dreaming. It kinda of felt like a sleep paralysis- the difference was that i could REALLY feel myself detaching away. However, i always fought it. ( Maybe now if it was to happen i would let go and see what would happen.)

Not too long ago I spoke with my aunt, and she told me that my grandma would astro project. ( How i never knew this!) And my aunt said it happened to her a couple of times and it would scare the sh** out of her.
I find interesting that some people can actually control it! I had a friend who told me he could do it- He would visit around the rooms in his house and fly away, but never too far from it. Because, of the fear of not returning.

I don’t believe that I have done any type of astral travel, but I am curious about it. It has recently become something that I would like to find out more about, so thank you for this post! I greatly appreciate it! I may find out that I have unintentionally!

@walter Sounds a lot like remote viewing. I think the CIA was experimenting with it to try and see if they could teach it. That would be fun!

It really is an adventure! It’s like learning a skill that you didn’t know existed! I learned to lucid dream from zero and it can take a lot of work to get good at it.

I don’t consider astral travel, but went to dimensional places by meditating. Interact with beings using this method. Even spoken in a strange language, delving on Draconian Magick in a meditative state of consciousness. There’s a 1 hour guided meditation I used with Lord Azazel, in which I’ll put a link to it, for anyone that want to give a try.

I had some experiences when I was a kid. Honestly, I didn’t like it, it’s so f**** weird lol maybe because my apartment was haunted. My mom told me once that nearby this apartment 7 children had died. They were struck by a massive lightning bolt while playing in the park. At this moment when I had an astral projection experience I saw these children in my bedroom. They wanted to speak with me.
