"Brig" Corn doll

Mabon, was a great learning experience for me- was my first. I enjoyed doing the rituals and spells accordingly. Decorated my Altar and meditated 4 times this week. (Work in progress) As I mentioned before, I’m trying to meditate a couple of minutes each day. 10-15 mins at least so I can get closer to my craft and spirituality. I also started my Mirror journaling, detailing my feelings and experiences after mediation and spell work. That’s a great exercise/lesson guys! Thank you!

As some of you know, I think I found my Diety - Brig or Brigid. However, I haven’t felt her lately and thought maybe she wasn’t the one for me- as I’ve learned from the forums, that Dieties let you know if they don’t want to work with you.
Anyhow, I had placed some :corn: :corn: :corn: on my Altar for Mabon and decided to peel the husk off and make a Corn doll for Brigid. I got into a mediative state as I created the doll, and the whole time thought of the Goddess. After I finished it. I placed it on the Altar, lit the:candle: said a prayer and invoked her. Also laid some offerings- herbal tea and fresh berries. I felt her again- her fiery precense , love, and security. I think the doll is what she wanted?! I’ve been meaning to buy her a statue, however I’m a bit on a budget these days. But, I really think she liked her doll. I could see her and feel her. Its like she took me on a journey- the whole time feeling her warmth and love .
I just wanted to share my experience and I’m happy she didn’t leave me. Seems like she didn’t care for an expensive statue but one that I created for her, with love. ( I will eventually get her one down the road)
Here is a picture of it.
Thank you.
Blessed be.

That’s a lovely corn dolly. You’re so lucky your fingers let you do that! LOL.

I think giving gifts to the deity is sort of like your Mom. She appreciates the things you bought her, but her real treasures are the things you’ve made.

This is such a beautiful way to connect with your deity
As others have said - Having something specially handmade by you adds such love and warmth to the gift for her and like any Mother figure she will feel that coming across. :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

@Limeberry, thank you! I felt really connected. I was feeling strange all last week, like drained and fatigued. After invoking her, I felt this warmth as well as her presence. After I finished my ritual I felt back to my regular self again. ( Like others in forum mentioned, there is planetary action going on) I thanked her for visiting me and taking away the weight off.

Awesome job, Dee!!! That’s a wonderful gift to your deity and clearly a lot of hard work. I’m sure your deity (no matter the name) appreciates it a lot!!!

I’m so happy that you feel her presence back! What a great testimony of the power of offerings!!! This was very inspirationa and a great way to celebrate Mabon!! :jack_o_lantern: :fallen_leaf:

May I ask… How long did it take??

@Francisco, thank you for the kind compliments! Actually I’m not sure. It was almost like automatic-mode. I peeled the husk from the two :corn: :corn: I had on my altar and just got in the zone and worked at it while I envisioned her precense. Maybe about an hour and half or more. The twine details took the longest. And just when I thought I was done, I would add something else to it! Lol

I love when that happens! It’s like a trance, a state of flow from hyperfocusing! I can tell that you were definitely in the zone because the doll (and the pictures) look flawless!

Thank you again!!! Its how I felt. I put on some Celtic- music on spotify and just drifted away- Only way I can describe it. After I offered it to her, I invoked her prayer and she took me on this journey! Felt like an almost out of body experience- but I was awake. Like you mentioned, the power of offerings! I took it like she liked the gift. Because like I mentioned, I felt her silence, the last couple of weeks. I promised her a statue- but I havent been able to get it. Since I bought my printer. Which will arrive on Friday! Excited to start printing my BOS. One of my spells and intentions was to help me grow in my craft and get my necessary tools to work with. ( Its all coming true! I didn’t doubt it- just knew was a journey and patience is a virtue) However, it just dawned on me why not make her a Corn-doll! I think it’s what she wanted. And like others mentioned, it felt like I was making a gift for my mom. Felt her hand and gentleness.

The corn doll came out beautifully, Dee! I can tell how much love and care you put into making it- the details with the twine are really impressive  I also agree that things carefully made with love and dedication are the very best gifts to give deities. I am sure Brigid loves this beautiful offering! :hugs:

This happens to me all the time, honestly. I get the feeling that it’s like…She’s just quietly watching from a distance. She’s not a helicopter parent, for sure.

Your corn doll is amazing and I’m so glad you’re finding peace, warmth, and love with Brigid :fire:

@MeganB, thank you! Yes, that’s exactly how I’m feeling with her. I think I’m learning and understanding how she is. She’s the Diety I’ve actually felt a connection with, besides the triple moon goddess. The strangest thing happened to me (the last time I read the Tarot.) I was meditating at my altar and I got a vision of large deer Antlers. Wasn’t sure what it meant. Than I did a 3 card tarot spread and The Lord card came out for me. ( I have the Green-witch tarot) Maybe the Lord is trying to grab my attention?! I could see the Antlers in a forest so vividly. I was taken aback when the Lord card came out. I should research and follow it ?!
Thank you.

Hey @walter, if you don’t mind me butting in here, but if you’re interested in researching the Horned God, Amazon Kindle had this book on sale today for free! Horns of Power: Manifestations of the Horned God. I don’t know how good it is but for free it looked interesting.
