🧧 Weekly Witchy CHALLENGE - Amulets & Talismans

Merry meet!

Thank you once again to everyone who joined in for last week’s Weekly Witchy Challenge - A Witch’s Companions :raven:

After spending time appreciating our magickal buddies last week, get ready to roll up your sleeves- it’s time to get crafting and enchanting this week! :sparkles:

The theme for this week’s challenge is…

Amulets Talismans Charms Enchantments Challenge

:red_gift_envelope: :pentacle_tarot: Amulets & Talismans :wind_chime: :magic_wand:

What is the difference between an amulet and a talisman?

An amulet is worn to ward off negative influences, creating protection. Meanwhile, a talisman draws near the desired thing, creating attraction. A lucky charm could be considered both an amulet (if it’s meant to protect the wearer from harm), and a talisman (if it’s meant to bring good fortune).

From Spells8: Enchanting Jewelry Guide

Amulets and talismans are often crafted as original pieces to either attract or protect against a certain intention. They can also be made by enchanting an object you already have. The enchanted object would then be either an amulet or talisman depending on the witch’s intention set while casting.

Make Your Own Amulet or Talisman :red_gift_envelope:

Like sigils, amulets and talismans hold magick over a period of time- even when you aren’t casting, they are working for you! Not only are they highly beneficial, they are also very easy to make. For this challenge, consider making your own amulet or talisman (and activating/consecrating them if you so choose!)- they can be created either from scratch or by enchanting an object you already have :sparkles:

How exciting I really like using amulets and tailsmans. For one recently I got a tattoo and Tatoos can be used for example, a tailsman and amulet they are interchangeable but technically, they serve opposite purposes. Tailsmans to bring something towards us, or charge to push or keep things away. Here’s an easy road map to keep from confusing the to the words, tailsman and toward both start with a T where is amulet in a way both begin with a a. Written by Dameon Echols High Magic :magic_wand: Since I want to charge my tattoo I wonder how to do that!? Any good ideas!? Ideally I am a Witch so most witches watch the position of the moon and the moon looks as though it is Waxing Gibbous which means the moon is growing so I can bring forth a particular concept of Hecate which is her Triformis energy which brings about the shapeshifter which is at the top to bring the healing powers I need to push forward! Please :pray:t4: give me guidance Hecate and help me to focus on my dreams and desires!

I am going to add some more details to this tattoo! But I definitely want to charge it and use this as a tailsman and amulet.

This is perfect timing for me!

I can’t wait to share what I’ve got!

@Jeannie1 – Your tattoo is beautiful, and you’re right! I think you can use a tattoo as an amulet or talisman. I would create a spell oil for whatever purpose you want and then use that over the tattoo. You can either rub the oil in or create a sigil that works to activate and charge the tattoo specifically. Draw the sigil in the oil or with moon water over your tattoo and tada! :tada: An amulet or talisman is created!

@Phoenix_Fire – I can’t wait to see what you create!

@Nixi – You’ve got a whole week for the challenge  but do it whenever! No deadline here

@AIRAM – That’s such a beautiful necklace! I love the sword with the flowers – I bet the energy and protection from that is amazing.

Another interesting challenge. I’m with you @Nixi!

@Jeannie1 your tatoo is gorgeous!

@AIRAM I love your necklace. That’s beautiful.

Guess what I found on Amazon Unlimited.

I’ll quote Halloweentown again, it’s not one of my favorite movies I swear  “See time works differently here” with go go go it’s like Wait it can’t be Tuesday, wasn’t yesterday Friday?

It’s even stranger now that I’ve been down so long

I’ll try to set a small goal for myself, I’m not very good at that, to at least getting the what and the how at least mostly figured out. Right now I know that even that might be aiming too high

This challenge is so interesting because I’ve loved the idea of having/creating a talisman or amulet but had yet to do it. With this challenge, it has pushed me to finally go for it! I decided to consecrate my wedding ring and charge it with extra love & peace when worn. It’s something I wear every single day, and for that I’m grateful because there’s no chance of me forgetting it. I also found a super cool necklace at a craft venue a few weeks ago, and I plan on consecrating it too! The necklace drew me in immediately (and it was a bit pricy) but I just had to get it. Had people telling me it’s an evil eye, but I saw it as exactly the opposite! It’s my divine eye giving me guidance, and it’s the perfect item (imo) to consecrate! Thank you so much for the fun challenge this week and for pushing me to do my very first spell!!!

Oh! Your wedding ring is just…surreal! :face_holding_back_tears:  :ring: Also, I loooove your nail paint! :green_heart: :nail_care:t2: It’s something like mint green right? :hugs: And woow, what a shiny and beautiful necklace! I love the way you say “it’s my divine eye giving me guidance!” :innocent: :sparkles: Congrats on your first & awesome spell @amandakay! :clap:t2: :sparkles: :pentagram: Blessed Be :yellow_heart:

Aww, thank you so much! I prefer more simple wedding rings, so I’m really glad you like it! I think it’s beautiful as well. :two_hearts: You’re correct on my nail polish color! I like to pair it with white or chocolate brown, but decided to just do the mint this time. I’m so happy to have finally done my first spell, it’s such a great accomplishment! Blessed be :sparkles::heart:

@amandakay You’re welcome sweetheart! :hugs: :sparkling_heart: Oh well, I can only imagine what a beautiful combination that would be, of three different nail polishes!  :nail_care:t2: But as I said, this one plain solid mint green shade is just as pretty! :green_heart: Very happy for your accomplishment hun! :people_hugging:  Blessed Be & Stay Magickal, always!

Perfect timing! I ordered the yellow jade crystal dragon skull as the first piece of my collection. I plan to make it a talisman to draw in the elemental qualities of air when I use it to cast a circle. :dash:

** hi Megan, and you are absolutely right making an oil would be great way to charge my tailsman and amulet.!!!

I was thinking about using a Circes oil to charge it because she was really good with her sorcery.
Or on spelling 8 there’s a Let’s Make A Love Oil! :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:

haha I totally relate – it’s like where did time go, ya know? One day it’s Friday and then I turn around and it’s already Thursday again. And you can quote Halloweentown all you want! I have a shirt that I got from St. Helens, OR, when we went with our family a few years ago to their Halloweentown Festival. It’s orange and it says “Being normal is vastly overrated!” :jack_o_lantern:

Small goals is all you can aim for!

I can’t wait to see what you do!

It does kind of look like a Nazar :nazar_amulet: Evil Eye Protection… but also like the All-Seeing-Eye! Either way, I like your jewelry and I think the pieces are beautiful!

Ohh, I bet it’s beautiful! :yellow_heart: I can’t wait to see it!

This’ll be nice. I’ve had an amulet/talisman my whole life. As a child it was a camel necklace (we lived in the middle east at the time so it worked), then as a teenager it was an RSC badge (royal shakespear company, again it fitted as now in England), now its my “benny necklace”, named by my husband as he says I’m benny from the film The Mummy, as this amulet/talisman represents alot of different spiritual paths. :joy: See what happens if I try and create a new one, for Spells8 (Ive not put a picture of my amulet, its camera shy :joy::thinking:). Blessed be to everyone. Love all the wonderous designs. So creative and magikal.
